Red maple, sugar maple, and American beech are often found interwoven in the Northeast forests. A beautiful native tree, the red maple can flourish in many habitats. Being fast-growing, it provides abundantly for native birds and insects.

Note: The beloved trillium flowers (wood lilies) are often found in maple-oak forests in Eastern Canada. See picture 4 for a tranquil maple-oak forest in Southern Ontario.
