While green beans were selling at around $2.99 per pound at a local Toronto supermarket, this pole bean sold at $7.99 per pound as of January 2021. Although demand and supply may play a role in the price difference; the main differentiator is the flavor.

Both picked young, pole beans are much sweeter and tenderer than bush green beans.  Note: pole bean has a climbing habit. It needs trellises for support.
