Product description

New England Blue Hubbard was introduced back in 1919. It is valued for both the meat and the seeds. The bright orange meat is sweet and firm, perfect for a hearty winter soup. The large white seeds are easy to crack, making them delicious snacks. Blue Hubbard is also known for its size. It has a reputation for producing enough to feed a large family. The average weight of the fruits is 15-20 lbs, sometimes exceeding 30 lb. The vines spread all over the garden. And the squashes can store up to four months. Note that this strain is not suited for containers or balconies. It has to be deeply rooted in the ground to feed a large crowd.
