Pale purple coneflower is the only Echinacea native to Ontario. It is a sometimes aggressive plant that shows off best and benefits from mixing with grasses. Plant several clumps of the flowers among a larger planting of little bluestem grasses, and dot some individual plants throughout. Consider adding butterfly weed and evening primrose, which are its friends in their native habitats.
