Product description
Husk cherry is protected by a papery husk. When the fruit ripens, it turns golden yellow and falls to the ground where it is usually harvested, thus its name, ground cherry. Since are from the same family, the husk cherries and tomatoes share similar growing habits. Tomatoes and husk cherries alike grow well in large containers and are space-savers in gardens. Note: the husk remains toxic when the fruit is ripe. Only the golden fruits are edible, do not eat the husks (Papery cover).
