This Shiso (Perilla frutescens var. crispa) bears heart-shaped, mild cinnamon-scented flavored leaves that come in two colors: dark green on top and purple underneath. It truly adds flavor and color to a variety of dishes. Fresh leaves may be used as a wrap for BBQ meat. Bi-color Shiso is an Asian version of Italian Basil. It is popular in Japanese and Korean cuisine. It is also widely used in South China for seafood dishes. An annual maturing in 85 days, green purple shiso thrives in full sun and warm weather.
