Hazelnut is a small tree or shrub that is not as demanding as large nut trees. It requires less space and it is easier to prune. More importantly, the flavor of hazelnut is incomparable. The seeds are from hybrid trees between American Hazelnut and European Hazelnut (filbert). Therefore, it is also called hazelbert.
