In A Sand County Almanac, a landmark of
conservation, Aldo Leopold wrote of the 1920s: a time when "everything grew bigger and better in heedlessness and arrogance." This was before synthetic fertilizers and pesticides—a reminder that the call to live in
harmony with the land is both timeless and urgent.

compassion for all that is vulnerable and needed in our world.
